AN EARLY STEIFF TEDDY BEAR CALLED "BROM"
German, circa 1912
Blonde mohair fur, replaced cotton pads, shoe button eyes, stitched nose. In played-with condition, arm and nose have patches. This teddybear was a gift to a boy between 1912 and 1917. It got its name for the sound he used to make. The small red soft toy is made of material once used to strengthen the bear's arms and legs.
