A RARE PUNCH & JUDY PULL TOY
Probably Zinner & Sohn, German, circa 1880
A wooden platform with paper lithographed cover and metal spoked wheels presents a puppet theatre in which two clowns with bisque heads and clown costumes, placed on a wooden stick. When the toy is pulled along, the left clown moves both arms with the bells towards each other, the right clown turns the head. Tear in backcloth, bisque heads not checked for damage.

A ZINNER & SOHNE AUTOMATON
German, circa 1900
The three-dimensional village scene consists of a backdrop of hills, a train, buildings, tunnel, windmill, shepardess, shephard and two sheep. On a box that conceals the crank mechanism. When the crank is turned the train comes out of the tunnel and rides across the bridge, the windmill and the shepardess turn, one sheep goes up and down. The crank also turns a metal spiked wheel that creates music. Figures presumably replaced. Two mill wings and part of roof restored.

Painted composition Jack-in-the-box toy, with paper-litho cover. Two caricatural figures that could very well represent Punch and Judy. The springs of both figures are very strong, I thus did not try to close the lid. Sporadic paper loss.

Painted composition clowns of several sizes, a lady rider, two horses, a monkey, an elephant, a pig, a spitz dog and a poodle. Most in good condition, but a few animals in particular are damaged. The lady rider is missing a foot and an arm.
